Biography:

General Zod, in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), is a Kryptonian military leader and antagonist, portrayed by Michael Shannon. He appears in the film Man of Steel. Zod hails from Krypton and held a high-ranking position within its military structure.

Driven by a fierce loyalty to his people and a belief in their superiority, Zod attempted to overthrow Krypton's council, leading to the planet's eventual destruction. He and his followers were banished to the Phantom Zone as punishment for their actions.

Upon escaping the Phantom Zone, Zod sought to terraform Earth into a new Krypton, eradicating the human race in the process. This placed him in direct conflict with Superman, Kal-El, the last son of Krypton and Zod's genetic equal. Their battle resulted in widespread devastation and ultimately concluded with Superman reluctantly killing Zod to prevent further loss of life.

Zod's armored suit enhances his already formidable Kryptonian strength and durability, making him a significant threat to Superman. He represents a stark contrast to Superman's ideals, embodying a rigid, authoritarian worldview.
